The Strategic Growth Process (Yes, We’re giving it away!)
- Discover Your Options and Choose. At every stage of Strategic Growth you will have a number of options available to you based upon who you are - your reason for starting a business, your beliefs, or the conscious and sometimes unconscious decisions you have made up to that point. After you have discovered your options, then you must consciously choose the ones that move you closer to your growth goals. “There are no strategic plans only strategic choices.”
- Ask and Answer the Unknown-Y’s. If there were no unknowns then everyone in business would be a success. The very nature of business is discovery – and whoever can discover the needs and wants of profitable customer’s gains the advantage. “If you want to know the answers, then you must ask the right questions.”
- Solve the How-2’s. Knowing by itself gets you closer, but not completely there. After you know, then you must solve the problem of how to deliver what you know and make a profit. “The first step toward a solution begins with the humility to admit that you don’t know, and the last step ends with the unwavering determination of success.”
- Build a Strategic Growth Business. This is the final and most difficult step in the Strategic Growth Process. If your purpose is something other than Strategic Growth then you will certainly stray from the path by chasing some other purpose like fame or fortune. Building a Strategic Growth business means simultaneously keeping your lifestyle goals in focus, taking care of existing profitable customers, building a foundation to support new customers and actively attracting and retaining those new customers. Most businesses that have problems sustaining growth forget these things and end up focusing only on whatever happens to be in front of them at the moment. “Your purpose for building a business will determine its outcome.”
